Welcome

Welcome to the labor and capital blog where we share our thoughts on class readings and discussions. Looking forward to the first post and meanwhile, there's this.

  1. Blog post guidelines:
Every week, two students will write a blog post of not more than two pages (12-point, single–spaced, Times New Roman font) on the theme of the week’s reading. The blog post will be an essay–style piece that:
    a. Explains the key concept for the week, drawing on relevant quotes from the texts
    b. Analyzes the texts in conversation with each other, noting key themes, debates or divergences between the authors’ perspectives
    c. Places the critical concept in conversation either with their own work or an event/process of contemporary relevance. This section explains the theoretical work, or perhaps the limitations, that the concept can perform.
    d. The blogpost should end with a few questions or points for discussion, which the writer will raise in class.

Please begin the week’s post with a complete set of citations (from the syllabus) so that even general readers of the blogs can refer to the texts under consideration.

Every student taking the course for credit must complete four of these essays, which will be marked.

When uploading your posts to the blog site please include appropriate titles and your name.
